Phaseback
Applied Energy, LLC has designed
Phaseback to operate at the beginning of voltage change in the
manner of an inductive circuit. Reacting at millivolt changes
in voltage Phaseback prevents the degradation that occurs with the
current flow allowed before present technology TVSS products clamp
and redirect that current. Phaseback works like a voltage pull down
circuit to high phase voltages and a pull up circuit to low phase
voltage while filtering noise. Phaseback continues to monitor phase
voltages, filter noise and balances phase voltages as it is always
online even during a direct short to ground. Phaseback
functions as a voltage stabilizer, surge suppressor and harmonic
filter. Phaseback has no relays, contactors, or trip units that could fail and disable the system. Its MTBF (mean time before failure) is designed to exceed 35 years. The original design has been a success with over 10 years of development and continuous testing in various industrial applications. Phaseback has performed well in both grounded WYE and ungrounded DELTA power systems, balancing phase voltages in ungrounded DELTA systems to prevent motor winding failure due to high voltage stress ultimately reducing electric motor winding failures by about 98%. Furthermore, the system has demonstrated that it cleans up the high frequency noise and voltage spikes associated with arcing ground faults in hundreds of computerized CNC machines allowing productive operation as opposed to frequent rebooting and maintenance.
