Who We Are
The Arthur N. Ulrich Company was founded in 1958 and today is a third generation family-owned, operated and managed manufacturer’s representative agency located in Pataskala, OH. We specialize in the technical application and sale of high integrity prime and backup electrical power systems for a variety of critical infrastructure needs in the healthcare, railroad, financial, utility, telecom, education, industrial and data processing fields.
In addition we also own and operate two subsidiary companies known as RedHawk Energy Systems, LLC and RedHawk Services, LLC.
RedHawk Energy Systems, LLC is a value-added manufacturing subsidiary of the Arthur N. Ulrich Company. Since the early 1980’s, we’ve helped commercial and industrial customers tackle their prime and backup power challenges with innovative and renewable power solutions ranging from a few watts to several kilowatts.
RedHawk Services, LLC was formed to provide startup and maintenance services for products we sell including battery & chargers, isolation power panels, solar power systems, fuel cells, stirling engine generators and more!
Our History
Over the past 60+ years the company has grown from one employee in a rented storage room in downtown Columbus, OH, to a multi-person, multi-million dollar sales agency with a custom office building and sophisticated selling and customer support systems. Throughout our history we have been instrumental in the introduction of many new types and designs of batteries, battery chargers, ups systems, renewable energy systems and power control systems.
Key personnel
Jim Ulrich
President/CEO
Joined the company in 1974 and is currently President/CEO taking over for Tom Ulrich who has retired. Jim handles sales & corporate management, contract decisions and is also responsible for Central Ohio and many national railroad accounts.
Tim Ulrich
Sr. Outside Sales – Southern Ohio, KY & TN
Joined the company in 2005 and is currently an outside sales agent. Tim is responsible for Southern Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee.
Matt Ulrich
Sr. Rail Sales – Eastern US & Canada
Joined the company in 2008 and is currently an outside sales agent for national rail/transit accounts. Matt is also responsible for all marketing functions (trade shows, web/graphic design, marketing collateral, etc.).
Mark Ulrich
AVP – RedHawk Energy
Joined the company in 2008 and is currently head of engineering and operations for our subsidiary company – RedHawk Energy Systems, LLC. Mark is responsible for project design, ISO management and engineering.
Joe Ulrich
Inside Sales & Service Manager
Joined the company in 2013 and is currently an inside sales agent. Joe is responsible for customer quotations, orders and logistical support for Mark Gibson. In addition Joe is the Service Manager for subsidiary RedHawk Services, LLC.
Doug Spirelis
Outside Sales – Western PA & WV
Joined the company in March 2025. Doug is formerly with Rochester Electronics as a Regional Sales Manager and will be taking over John Ulrich’s territories in Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
Mark Gibson
Sr. Outside Sales – NE Ohio
Joined the company in 2022 and is currently a senior outside sales agent. Mark is formerly with OhioCat and has assumed Bill Ulrich’s Northeast Ohio territory as Bill Ulrich transitions to retirement.
Robby Johnson
Rail Sales – Western US
Joined the company in July 2022 and is currently an outside sales agent for national rail/transit accounts, primarily US accounts West of the Mississippi River.
Kyle Snider
Inside Sales
Joined the company in 1999 and is currently an inside sales agent. Kyle is responsible for customer quotations, orders and logistical support of Jim Ulrich and Tim Ulrich.
Kandee Engle
Inside Sales
Joined the company in 1992 and is currently an inside sales agent. Kandee is responsible for customer quotations, orders and logistical support for national railroad accounts and oil & gas accounts.
John Blalock
Inside Sales
Joined the company in December 2023 and is currently an inside sales agent. John is responsible for customer quotations, order and logistical support.
Judy Salyer
Office Management & Executive Assistant
Joined the company in 1998 and is currently an inside office manager and corporate assistant. Judy is responsible for orders and logistical support, as well as office management.
Kim Snider
Receptionist
Joined the company in 2015 and is currently the office receptionist. Kim is responsible for order processing, filing, shipping, sales support and greeting customers.
Kerry Gaines
Inside Sales – Rail & Transit
Joined the company in January of 2025 and is currently transitioning to a role as an inside sales agent covering the Rail & Transit market. Kerry is formerly with OnePower where she was the lead technician for their Wind Turbines.
Anthony Jones
Inside Sales
Joined the company in January of 2025 and is currently transitioning to a role as an inside sales agent for commericial and industrial markets. Anthony is formerly with F.D. Lawrence Electric Co in Cincinnati, OH.
David Joos
Warehouse Manager
Joined the company in September 2024 and is currently the Warehouse Manager. David brings nearly two decades of experience in Warehouse Management with expertise in Six Sigma and ISO.
