Our History
Our Founder
Arthur N. Ulrich
December 30, 1927 – November 17, 2022
Our founder Art Ulrich was a 1948 graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Before starting the Arthur N. Ulrich Company in 1958, Art worked early stints at Westinghouse Electric Corp in Pittsburgh, PA; Electric Products in Cleveland, OH; and Arthur B Sonneborn Co., in Detroit, MI.
In 1958 Art decided it was time to form his own manufacturer’s representative agency with a focus on high integrity AC & DC electrical power systems for critical infrastructure markets. The company would grow from one employee in a rented storage room in downtown Columbus, OH to a multi-person, multi-million dollar sales agency with 5 of Art’s sons and 4 grandchildren working in the business and growing it into what it is today.
Our Philosophy
We believe that quality is more important than price. We believe in honesty – and ethics – and hard work. We always strive to earn the faith and support of our customers by supplying better equipment and service than can be obtained elsewhere; by being more knowledgeable about the proper application of equipment than others; and by never putting our personal gain ahead of meeting our commitments to others. Our sincere desire is that everyone who has done business with us in the past – or will do business with us in the future – will feel that it was to their benefit to have done so.
1958 to 2015

2022 to Present
1958 to Today
Over the past 65 years the company has grown from one employee in a rented storage room in downtown Columbus, OH, to a multi-person, multi-million dollar sales agency with a custom office building and sophisticated selling and customer support systems. Throughout our history we have been instrumental in the introduction of many new types and designs of batteries, battery chargers, ups systems, renewable energy systems and power control systems.
